Comments: This sequel is a better read than the first book in the series, although it is still far from a masterpiece. It’s still filled with a lot of filler, wasting your time by going through either obvious things, or stupid things. Once again, nearly all characters apart from the main character and his associates are blind and biased. However, the mystery presented this time around is more interesting and it elaborates and expands the overall mystery that started in the previous book. Heaps of things are still left in the dark and unanswered but it’s more satisfying this time around. A surprising thing is that the book ties within the same universe as A Series of Unfortunate Events, acting more like a prequel. Anyway, if you set your expectations low, then you won’t be disappointed.
