Striker Eureka is the Australian Jaeger in the movie, who was one of the few remaining Jaegars left and one of the main mechs (i.e. it didn't get destroyed soon after it was introduced).
Like other figures in the series, it is faithful to the on-screen model and will wow you with its intricate sculpted details.
The head sculpt is a bit disappointing as it feels proportionally small compared to the rest of the body. It's also difficult to turn from side to side.
While appearing bland due to the uniform grey-ish blue plastic, there is a black wash on the whole figure.
He retains his "Angel" wings on his back.
The amount of sculpted detail is mindblowing, as you can see the individual pistons on each leg.
The unique feature of Striker Eureka is his twin blades on each forearm. Unfortunately, they are very thin and feel like they'll snap easily. They're also just pegged on and can easily detach or displaced. I don't know why they aren't just glued into place as it's annoying when you dislodge them while posing the figure, they don't retract or anything.
To give an idea of size, here he is with a Transformers Deluxe figure. He is approximately 7" tall, give or take.
In comparison to the other main cast, he is the shorter of them all but also one of the more sleeker and athletic looking one.
Sadly, he lacks the anti-Kaiju chest guns. It probably would have blown the budget to add in additional pieces to his chest to reveal guns.
It would be nice if the coloring wasn't less of this dull matte grey-blue. A more metallic sheen would have brought out more of the detailing.
Like the other Jaeger figures, Striker Eureka is quite limited in poseability.
He has two shoulder joints (one to lift up and the other to swing forward), elbow joint, wrist balljoints, waist, swivel, head swivel, hips, ankle and knee swivels.
While that may sound like a lot, they are all very limited in their range and it's hard to put Striker Eureka into any dynamic pose.
Good news is that he's hefty and his footprint is large enough such that he won't fall over that easily. One thing to note is that the material used is soft and rubbery.
Once again, a detailed figure that will look great on your shelf.
OVERALL:
Striker Eureka is a great piece and well worth his low asking price. It's quite awesome that NECA ended up reissuing him in 2014 to allow fans who missed out the first time, another chance to get him. Recommended if you're a fan of the movie and the design tickles your fancy, however, be aware that his articulation is quite limited.
