Book Review: Pigs at the Trough

Review:  #634
Title:  Pigs at the Trough
Series:  N/A
Author:  Adam Schwab
Read Before:  no
Comments:  Pigs at the Trough tells the rise and downfall of several Australian companies due to bad corporate governance, misleading practices or even downright fraud.  It tells an interesting tale, covering ABC Learning, Telstra and Babcock & Brown.  The author paints a grim picture, showcasing each company’s flaws and when it started appearing that something was wrong (thanks to hindsight of course).  Unfortunate, the author’s hatred for corporate executives, their excessive remuneration and shady practices is very evident from the style of the writing, which can reduce his credibility.  The book manages to keep things interesting, and since each company’s downfall is due to various different reasons, it never truly gets repetitive or boring.
