PACKAGING:
As an Asia exclusive of the United line (the Japanese equivalent of Generations), Ramjet came in a boxset named "Seekers: Elite".
The pack included the three Coneheads, being Thrust, Ramjet and Dirge.
The set carried a premium price tag to accompany the premium packaging, it contains a flap to reveal the window showcasing the three figures.
JET MODE:
Ramjet transforms into a modified F-15 Eagle fighter jet.
Being a remold of the Classics Starscream mold, Ramjet has remolded wings, extra set of thrusters and "bombs" underneath each wing. Also the fact that the jet nose is shorter due to the different head in robot mode.
Ramjet is a Deluxe figure, above is a comparison against Unite Warriors Dangar (aka Brawl) and Ramjet is a decent size.
The three looks great as a set. Ramjet has metallic red paint on its wings and unlike Thrust, the metallic paint used isn't as susceptible to fading. The grey used for the air intakes and the nose is also slightly metallic.
A fantastic jet mode and looks amazing with the shiny paint.
TRANSFORMATION:
Simple by today's standards but considering the mold was first released in 2006, it's pretty decent. This at least allows Ramjet to transform between the molds easily and quickly. No changes are made to the transformation even with the remold, although the rear wing assembly remains on a swivel, which it does not use in either mode.
ROBOT MODE:
For the size, Ramjet's robot mode is a dead ringer for the cartoon mode and looks really good.
There's barely any kibble which is impressive. The biggest pieces are the rear wings which now sit on the outside of his legs.
The headsculpt is great. Like the original G1 toy, the head is the jet nose, but more appropriately proportioned here (but this also has the side effect of the face being visible when looking from below the jet).
Ramjet is your standard height for a Deluxe in robot mode.
Poseability is solid but the lack of elbow swivels is the most glaring flaw. The heelspurs don't do a fantastic job of keeping him standing upright when trying to pose him.
The bulkier missiles on his arms are spring loaded, which presents most of the play value here. He also has some additional metallic paint applications on his knees and feet, as well as the shinier grey on his torso, all of which combines to make a very pretty robot.
A good robot mode and probably the best in the set.
OVERALL:
Ramjet is a very nice toy and is the definitive version of the character at this size. He looks great in both modes and while metallic paint applications are usually superficial, this is not the case with Ramjet as it enhances the aesthetics of the figure. If you can afford it, then grab this set.
