Book Review: Percy Jackson and the Singer of Apollo

Review:  #678
Title:  Percy Jackson and the Singer of Apollo
Series:  Percy Jackson and the Olympians - short story
Author:  Rick Riordan
Read Before:  no
Comments:  Percy Jackson and the Singer of Apollo is a short story at only 24 pages long, originally published in a collection of short stories.  It’s a small adventure in which during Grover’s birthday, Apollo tasks him and Percy to find the missing celadon, an automaton that has the ability to sing influence a person’s behaviour/emotions.  Told in first person, this short story is one of the better works from the author’s recent attempts.  This is thanks to the downplaying of the reliance pop culture references for humour and more on the genuine thing.  As expected, for something so short, there plot isn’t very complicated as it boils down to basically a big chase scene but it was enjoyable all the same.
